For years I’ve had the desire to record this album for solo viola da gamba. Using simple melodic fragments and gestures, and inspired as much by my work in early music as my work as a composer and improviser, 'Mer Bleue' features a collection of pieces that focus on the instrument’s sombre and melancholic timbre.

The album download also includes a 10-page PDF booklet with liner notes by J.F. Martel and myself.
