The final installment of Ephemera commences with the sarabande from J.S. Bach’s Suite No.2 in D minor, BWV 1008. Originally composed for violoncello, I performed it here on the harmonium. For me, Bach’s sarabandes, as found in his six cello suites, as well as in his partitas for solo violin and Goldberg Variations, encapsulate the essence of his work, and this particular sarabande holds profound personal significance. As its final notes fade, I allow the wind to carry on the dance. Thanks for listening.
